Episode 13 opens with a cold flashback: 1987, a deserted haveli in Rajasthan. We see a woman named Chandramati (played by veteran actress Neena Tiwana) performing a forbidden ritual involving a black chadar and a brass nazar pendant. Cut to the present. Ayaan (Vikram Sethi) discovers that his late mother’s graveyard shroud is the same cursed chadar. Zara (Meera Deshpande) begins experiencing violent trances, during which she writes ancient Bhojpuri symbols on her bedroom walls—messages from Chandramati.
Unlike typical horror soap operas, Chadar 2024 leans into slow-burn tension, ancient Indian occult lore, and morally grey characters. The first season, initially titled Nazar (meaning "The Evil Eye"), was split into 22 episodes, with Episode 13 marking the exact halfway point—and the show's narrative turning point.
