He lives in a tiny, dirty apartment in a rundown section of Philadelphia. He is thirty years old, with a face that looks forty, and his boxing career has been a series of lost decisions and locker room jokes.

Stallone went home and wrote the script for Rocky in three days. He famously turned down hundreds of thousands of dollars from producers who wanted to cast a major star (Robert Redford, Burt Reynolds, or Ryan O’Neal).
